#Wintering_Together in the art therapy room?

As part of the 10-week marathon "Wintering together", which is aimed at combating burnout among volunteers, our Rotary women visited the "therapeutic drawing" room, or, if we speak in professional jargon, the art therapy room.

It is a method of psychotherapy that uses artistic techniques and creativity, such as painting, sculpting, applications, sand therapy, etc., for treatment and psychocorrection. The goal of the session is not to create a beautiful, idealized picture, but to work with your own "I". When performing exercises, the focus is not on the result, but on the process.

Our meeting was moderated by a friend of the club, professional speaker and business trainer - Zoya Kalina. The class began in the same way as in any other therapeutic direction: with a request. In the first part of the session, the volunteers drew messages, and in the second - they "deciphered" and processed the messages created with paints.

Art therapy helps to accept what happened, reduce the impact of toxic thoughts, transform negative emotions into positive ones. Taking into account the fact that each Rotarian holds a picture in her hands, we conclude that Zoya managed to help women put their inner "I" on paper.
