Our pilot project to provide city residents with drinking water.  As a result of mass shelling, the provision of clean drinking water was disrupted. More than 80% of water trucks were destroyed. Many people are forced to drink untreated water, putting themselves at risk of gastrointestinal illnesses.  In order to provide Kharkiv residents with clean drinking water, both industrial and semi-industrial filters will be purchased and installed. The purpose of the project is to provide 1,000,000 - 1,500,000 people with drinking water in Kharkiv

What has been done:

• The primary donors of this project were three German Rotarians of RC Konstanz, RC Konstanz-Mainau and RC Konstanz-Rheintor and two Kharkiv Rotarians of RC Kharkiv and RC Kharkiv City.
• The first equipment was installed in two bomb shelters, in the Humanitarian HUB, and on Planova Street.  Number of people who have access to clean water as a result is over 1000.
• We are writing a grant application for $50,000 to install the next 20-30 filters.
