"Help needed: Ukraine is looking for windows!"

With these words, the history of the "Windows Ukraine" project began, the initiators of which were the Swiss architect Barbara Buser and her daughter, a social anthropologist and ecologist - Anna Buser.

Women could not get the images of Ukrainian houses with broken windows out of their heads. "They don't have windows anymore, and we have everything in excess, which is reflected in the fact that we sell whole, high-quality windows for scrap metal," said Ms. Barbara.

Thus, together with Martin Bischof und Johann Petersmann, they founded the non-profit association Re-Win (https://re-win.ch), which "saves" used building materials from disposal and organizes their re-installation. Since its foundation, the association has sent several thousand windows in 27 batches to Ukraine, where they are professionally reinstalled by volunteer organizations.

We received one of the batches - Rotary Club Kharkiv "New Level". 400 excellent wooden and metal windows, which were replaced as part of the energy modernization of the Walche office building (Zurich), were INSTALLED by our volunteers of the Kharkiv branch of Dobrobat in one of the sports schools in Kharkiv, which was damaged due to the Russian armed attack.

Mrs. Barbara commented in her interview that "this is a drop in the ocean". She would like even more support, so she will continue to work, communicate and communicate again.
