How we turned Green Grove Park into a paradise!

A few days ago, volunteers of the United Rotary HUB, members of the construction and restoration battalion "Kharkiv Reconstruction Front", as well as their friends and acquaintances met in one of the nine districts to perform an eco-deed.

Why this place?

Because during its almost 65 years of existence, the grove has "seen" a lot: both ups and downs, and in the end it was preserved thanks to caring people, true patriots of Kharkiv. Residents of the Industrial District systematically went out on Saturdays, arranged the territory by their own efforts, cleaned up garbage, fought with weeds in the flower beds, and cleaned the spring in order to have water.

Now the territory of the park is 47 hectares. As before, the squirrels here take treats from the hands. But because of the war, the knock of "rebuilding" is no longer heard.

And in order to start spring improvement on time, our volunteers became gardeners for 1 day and dug several dozen planting holes for further collective planting of trees.

Because the war that was launched by Russia has a very high price for the entire ecosystem of the country: large forest areas are destroyed, air and water resources are heavily polluted, birds and wild animals die.

Nature will not "wait" for tomorrow. We care about the environment at the district, local, and national levels already today!
