Rest in peace, Evgeny! We promise that we will volunteer for ourselves and for you!
Rest in peace, Evgeny! We promise that we will volunteer for ourselves and for you!
This Saturday, May 13, our president Pavlo Filippenko came to the most dramatic place in our city - cemetery #18. Here, near the Alley of Heroes, the burial ceremony of Evgeny Sanin, a Kharkiv volunteer from the Eventroom_ua charity fund, took place.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, 46-year-old Zhenya has been involved in evacuating residents of occupied and de-occupied territories, providing medical and humanitarian aid. Together with us and other 33 foundations of Kharkiv, he attended the regular founding meetings of the coordination council of volunteers with the support of KhRMA.
Volunteering motivated him, and then took him to heaven.
On April 13, in the village of Dvorichna, a volunteer caravan came under direct fire from the occupiers. Evgeny was in one of the cars. The volunteer suffered shrapnel wounds to the face, abdomen and thigh. Immediately after his injury, he was evacuated to the Kupyansk District Hospital, where he was operated on for several hours. It was possible to stabilize the condition, but it remained difficult.
For a month, like a true Cossack, he silently endured hellish pains, because painkillers did not help. And on May 12, he was no longer with us.
The Rotary HUB team expresses its condolences to Evgeny's family and friends. Eternal memory of the hero! We will definitely take revenge for you and for our Ukraine!
