About the Opora project on the air of the telethon!

In April 2022, thanks to the support of the Rotarians of our Rotary Club Kharkiv "New Level", mobile teams of HEALTHY BODY rehabilitators started working in Kharkiv region. This is the working name of the "Support" project, in the framework of which masseurs, rehabilitators, traumatologists, and physical therapists go to the front line and provide military assistance on the spot.

The leaders of the project are Oleg Shevtsov - an officer of the Kharkiv Defense Staff and a friend of the New Level club, as well as - Serhii Ivanov - a volunteer of the Rotary HUB and a massage therapist by profession.

According to Oleg, Ukrainian soldiers complain of hernias, protrusions, lower back and back pain after wearing body armor, osteochondrosis, scoliosis, injuries, knee pain.

Treatment of pain most often begins with the relief of acute symptoms. For this, manual approaches are used that can affect the spasm immediately and advanced physiotherapeutic procedures that affect inflammatory processes in muscles and tissues. For example, kinesiotaping works very well. High-quality tapes (adhesive tapes that fix muscle tissue) help the military to keep themselves in shape.

But if the cause of the pain remains unclear, after the relief of acute symptoms, Oleg, Serhiy and their fellow rehabilitation specialists prescribe additional diagnostics (for example, send for an MRI).

Today, the Rotary Club Kharkiv "New Level" team contributes to the development of the project in every possible way. We are hiring medical doctors. materials and small equipment ("boots", bandages, needles, elastic bandages, etc.). Also, partners from Finland (Lahti-Wesijärvi Rotaryklubi club, Rotary 1390 Finland and Rotary 9940 New Zealand districts) donated a minivan - if you have an extra one, HEALTHY BODY rehabilitators need more.

And from the latest news - we won a ‼️special grant of UAH 300,000‼️ for equipping HEALTHY BODY with equipment and conducting shock wave therapy, ultrasound/USC therapy, etc.
