To feel worthy, not miserable!
To feel worthy, not miserable!
And to be honest, excessive modesty during the war is also inappropriate. The safety of his life, loved ones and relatives may depend on how communicative a person is. That is why, despite the daily increase in the number of volunteers at Rotary HUB (for example, there are 679 such people now), we maintain an open, free dialogue with everyone. Volunteers talk about their needs, because colleagues need to be trusted (especially Rotarians).
We recently had a frank conversation with benefactor No. 314 - Oleksandr Kobzev. His mother - Lidia Terentiyevna belongs to the category of lying people. It is quite obvious that now bedridden people die most often. If it is hypothetically possible to go down the stairs to the basement or cellar on a walker or in a wheelchair, even if it will be dangerous and long, then it is not realistic to transport yourself somewhere without special equipment and to evacuate in general.
For Rotary HUB, barrier-free is a formality. It is about completeness, equality and dignity. Especially on the 375th day of the war, when all Ukrainians are soldiers.
So, for Oleksandr's mother - Mrs. Lydia Kobzeva - our team handed over a wheelchair donated by the Logistics Center of the Society of Ukrainians in Finland Logistiikkakeskus / Logistics Center.
People with disabilities have always been in Ukraine. But we can do more than sympathize or panic. We can act and dispel the darkness together! Thank you to everyone who agreed to donate with us!
