What is that shining above? No, not stars, but Kharkiv street lamps!
What is that shining above? No, not stars, but Kharkiv street lamps!
On February 24, 2022, at 4:45 a.m., Kharkiv residents heard explosions. In the evening, a curfew was introduced in the city from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
On March 4, 2022, light masking was introduced. Thus, Kharkiv plunged into darkness and began to live according to the laws of wartime.
Stepping out onto the balcony, instead of the city illuminated by lanterns and walking adults with children, there is only darkness and desolation. Instead of the illuminated windows of the houses, there are panes taped criss-cross with scotch tape and the faint flickering of a flashlight or candle.
For a year, the streets of Kharkiv were lit only by car headlights. And yesterday - they officially turned on the lights for a couple of hours.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov commented on the event as follows: "The other day, I held successful negotiations with the persons responsible for security. We reached an agreement that we will start illuminating the central highways and other, the busiest roads. Initially, the street lights will work from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. test mode. We will gradually expand the geography of inclusions and increase the time the lights work."
Amazing news! If the enemy dares to declare himself, we will be able to see him even at night.
Glory to Ukraine!
