We do not hide our eyes and take care of the elderly!
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has a devastating effect on civilians of all ages. Every minute leads to loss of home, to fear, pain, fatigue. In short, do not wish this on anyone.
However, there is something more radical than material losses. There was no threat to the physical safety of people.
You say they could evacuate. No, they couldn't.
Here you need to understand that the older we are, the less psychologically flexible we are. The maneuverability of our behavior narrows every year of life. And in old age, it is extremely difficult to change something, especially fundamentally - your house, habits, daily routine.
This is especially true of peasants who have developed a settled way of life due to seasonality over many years.
Recently, a request was received in the name of our president - Pavlo Filippenko. A grandmother, a resident of the town of Borova (Izyum district), who belongs to the category of people with disabilities, asked to find a wheelchair for her.
The issue of mobility in wartime cannot be overestimated. Without exaggeration, this is the most important condition if you want to stay alive and healthy.
In the end, we satisfied the request and, with the help of the volunteer Smal Kostyantyn, gave the chair to the grandmother.
We thank the donors who help us in everything: the members of the Ukrainian Association in Finland Ukrainalaisten yhystis Suomsoe ry / Ukrainian Association in Finland and the volunteers of the Logistics Center of the Ukrainian Society Logistiikkakeskus / Logistics Center.
