"In order to grow in joy, one must know about possible disasters!"

Do you remember how an open lesson on civil defense for elementary and middle school students began with these words? We were gathered in the assembly hall and told about actions during emergency situations. Someone studied the basics of security 30 years ago, someone 15, and our volunteers from the Kharkiv Dobrobat battalion one day ago.

Because yesterday, the "Informational and educational training on the basics of mine danger" was held in the Slobid District Emergency Department of the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response, dedicated to the prevention of tragedies from explosive objects and to professional information of the population of the Kharkiv region.

Specialists of the department of risk education and interaction with the public on issues of mine action gathered representatives of 20 charitable organizations of Kharkiv and:

- considered typical questions that arise in the population in the presence of a mine threat;
- analyzed the situations that arise during demining;
- informed about types and types of explosive devices with demonstration of visual materials (deactivated mines);
- provided recommendations on informing the average population about mine danger.

And although demining, neutralization, and destruction of explosive objects are the work of only trained sapper specialists, knowledge about the variety of modern ammunition used by the enemy is needed by everyone. Thank you to the State Emergency Service for taking care of our lives!
