There was not a word in the news about this de-occupied village!
There was not a word in the news about this de-occupied village!
Because during the September counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated 544 settlements. Only those who surprised everyone with a public atrocity were listed by name. But little has changed since then.
For example, the situation in the village of Khotimlya, which is located on the left bank of the Pecheneg reservoir. It is part of the Starosaltivska territorial community. The nearest town - Vovchansk - is approximately 36 kilometers away. The border with Russia is 47 km away.
Khotimlya was fired from barrel artillery. As a result of the shelling, several locals were concussed, a dog was killed, some private houses were destroyed, as well as an electrical substation.
However, the biggest problem of the village is the lack of logistics.
Almost from the first day of the invasion, the village was isolated, "as if on an island." The embankment connecting Stary Saltiv with the left bank was damaged. It is still impossible to move with it. People survive for 11 months thanks to a humanitarian. Our Rotary HUB also brought products, as they say "in a kayak".
Strategic food collected by UN representatives as part of the World Food Program humanitarian program was distributed. Inside one box are the following products: canned meat, sunflower oil, pasta, a bag of flour and a can of canned beans.
We are stepping from the front line towards the victorious horizon!
