What do retired grandmothers in Kharkiv do?
What do retired grandmothers in Kharkiv do? Are they talking, watching TV and cooking borscht? Or maybe they remember how good life was 10, 20, 30 years ago? Leave these stereotypes behind.
324th day of the war. Grandmothers "armed themselves" with knitting needles to support the army. Because we all owe an unrequited debt to the defenders of Ukraine, and this debt must be paid not in five years at a parade dedicated to Victory Day, which we will definitely have, but right now. And the mother of our teammate Sergey Sydorov does it with socks.
Lyudmila Yakovlivna is a volunteer who knits socks for defenders at a rapid pace: one pair in one night. The only difficulty is to do it exactly according to certain parameters. After all, threads are different in thickness, so the number of rows and loops is always different. But Serhiy supports his mother's initiative, finds the best threads and knows that if she were younger and healthier, she would have taken up arms and gone to defend the country.
The best time for socks from Lyudmila Yakovlivna is quiet time. After all, there is nothing more pleasant for a soldier than to "free his feet" from tight and probably soaked all day long boots to clean and soft socks. To remember the warmth of mother's hands, to think about loved ones, that they are waiting for you, that you are needed and must survive!
We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are building up the STRENGTH OF THE KHARKIV BACK!
