Kharkiv - a hero city - received a Finnish humanitarian convoy!

September 2022 in the Russian-Ukrainian war will go down in history as the time of the great counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. In less than 14 days, Ukrainian forces managed to liberate the territories and cities that the Russians spent more than 2 months occupying: from Vovchansk and Kupyansk to Balaklia and Izyum.

Unfortunately, the fundamental security situation for Kharkiv and the region has not changed with the departure of Russian troops. The regional center cannot live peacefully, because the Kremlin has changed its shelling tactics: now the occupiers are hitting the transformer substations and the light, heat, gas and water are disappearing.

But the light bulb never goes off in the Rotary HUB, because we are writing a charitable fairy tale for 354 days.

Today's section is dedicated to Finland, namely the Logistics Center of the Society of Ukrainians in Finland Logistiikkakeskus / Logistics Center. Their volunteer team consists of temporarily resettled Ukrainians, and at the same time Ukrainians who are already known and respected in Finland. In addition, there are Finns in the team who gave up a carefree life and help our people.

And so our friends assembled a truck for us in the format of a "Joulupukki chest" (that's how the Finns call Santa Claus) - that is, they tried to cover the needs of all groups of beneficiaries. For example, fire extinguishers for heating points, socks for soldiers at the front, wheelchairs for the disabled and wounded, baby food for children, overalls for repair crews, etc.
