Crossroads of peace and war!
Crossroads of peace and war!
This is how you can comment on the situation that developed in Shevchenkovo village of Kupyansk district. Because "de-occupied village" does not mean safe. Unfortunately, in addition to evidence of war crimes during the occupation (burnt cars, propaganda inscriptions on fences, destroyed infrastructure), cases of human rights violations continue to be recorded here, including attempted murder of civilians.
For example, as a result of the last shelling of the local market from the S-300 air defense system, the enemy wounded seven villagers, among whom was a 13-year-old girl. There was no hospitalization and they returned to their own semi-heated houses. After all, the lack of heat is the next problem of this village, with which fate itself brought us.
In the list of volunteers of Rotary HUB there are benefactors who take care of Shevchenkovo village. Therefore, together we compared the needs of the locals with our capabilities and performed another charity event - we warmed 50 families with Rotary blankets, which we sewed ourselves as part of the project #We_heat_Ukraine_in_a_crowd_hour.
Our blankets are made of strong and dense raincoat with "anti-moisture" impregnation on one side, fleece on the other and contain optimal heat-insulating hypoallergenic filler. And thanks to the Velcro fastener, the rotary blankets are fixed together and can protect against drafts.
We were able to share the financial burden of production with the Rotarians from the Arnprior Rotary Club. A big thank you to all Canadians in District 7040.
If you want to support our "warm cause" - make a financial donation. And we will sew EVEN MORE QUILTS!
