A dignified old age - this is what pensioners see as their joy!

Pensioners, people with disabilities and people with a "bouquet" of chronic diseases are now increasingly referred to in the context of "vulnerable" or "those who cannot escape from war."

These men and women remember the reality of combat, and therefore are especially vulnerable to deterioration of health, especially mental health. Moreover, one in three suffers from loneliness and has limited access to information. Therefore, their lives depend more often not on relatives, but on neighbors and volunteers.

Since the first days of the war, the team of Rotary HUB has been helping elderly Kharkiv residents with humanitarian aid: food, medicine, disability equipment, clothes, etc. Close contact with this group of beneficiaries showed that the elderly began to complain more often of memory problems, have difficulty concentrating, feel lost, distracted.

To support the body of those over 60 and to prevent the exacerbation of chronic diseases, we handed over Finnish vitamins for adults. Dozens of Kharkiv residents living in the de-occupied territories received complexes thanks to a team of volunteers headed by Svitlana Tkalich.

These vitamin supplements were sent to us by the members of the Finnish club Lahti-Wesijärvi Rotaryklubi, as well as partners - the district Rotary 1390 Finland and Rotary 9940 New Zealand and the Dutch from Ukrainalainsen Yhdishus Suomesa.
