Such native people of Kharkiv, peasants affected by the war!
Such native people of Kharkiv, peasants affected by the war!
A bitter fate befell the inhabitants of the village of Mala Rohan, which was under occupation during February-March 2022. From here, you can see the eastern part of Kharkiv, as if in the palm of your hand, and therefore the invaders set up positions here and prepared with artillery installations, rocket systems of salvo fire. And from the planes that often appeared over the village, bombs were dropped randomly.
Nowadays, life is returning to the village, but 100% peace is not felt. Locals are ready for everything: the walls in the basement were insulated, wood stoves were carefully installed, places for evacuation overnight were arranged, water and food supplies were prepared.
BUT IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND that all these people are mainly pensioners, persons with disabilities or complex, chronic diseases, as well as residents who did not want to leave their homes and cities because they want to celebrate the victory in their native village!
Fortunately, the local government, i.e. the Vilkhiv village council, actively supports Mala Rohan and other settlements that are part of it. But there are 16 villages and towns and about 5,000-6,000 people. Their most urgent needs can be described as follows: access to food, medicine, medical services and financial resources.
Therefore, in order to NORMALIZE and BALANCE DEMAND with SUPPLY, our humanitarian Rotary HUB responded to the request of Vilkhiv OTG.
We collected a minivan of scarce aid for "particularly vulnerable groups" in the village of Mala Rohan. Medicines, police officers, a wheelchair, a generator, pillows, blankets, and clothes were donated for them.
Residents of Kharkiv, keep your faith and accept Rotary's help wholeheartedly!
