"We shared an orange. There are many of us - he is one"
"We shared an orange. There are many of us - he is one"
This is roughly how we felt when we met the truck from Finland in Lviv. More than 30 tons of humanitarian aid was collected for our Rotary HUB by "Northern European" heroes - representatives of the charity organization Hane Peace Ukraine, members of the Ukrainian association in Finland and volunteers of the Logistics Center of the Ukrainian Society Logistiikkakeskus / Logistics Center.
BUT the peculiarity of this Finnish aid was that we did not take everything for ourselves, but also gave something to our colleagues from Lviv.
By "something" we actually understand quite a lot of help - 12 boxes of equipment for the repair of medical equipment, as well as 5 medical tables and pallets for them.
Why this type of help?
It is not a secret or surprising news that since the first day of the full-scale war, civilians and soldiers with explosive injuries and amputations have been sent to Lviv for treatment. And despite the fact that the country's leadership does not disclose the exact number of victims, it is obvious that the health care system was not fully prepared for such an influx of patients.
Therefore, the process of expanding the number of medical facilities, as well as completing and updating their equipment, continues constantly in all regions of Ukraine, where the security situation is more or less stable.
So, we are glad that the "medical goods" were transferred to Lviv, and the rest of the boxes were "driven" to their headquarters in Kharkiv. It was enough for everyone, because Ukraine is our common home!
