Found someone to talk to about the challenges of education!

For the second month, the Rotary intelligentsia attends the MEETING of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Kharkiv region of the United Nations OCHA in order to discuss the COORDINATION OF HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE and the work of the cluster system in Kharkiv.

Representatives of various clusters gather at the OCHA conference. For example, in matters of education and science. This is how we got to know FCA Finn Church Aid - a Finnish non-profit organization that specializes in supporting local communities in three priority areas: the right to peace, the right to education and the right to livelihood. FCA has ambitious plans for Kharkiv, in particular to MINIMIZE THE IMPACT OF THE WAR ON THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS in the region.

Over the next 14 months, FCA and its partners plan to reach around 67,000 children, focusing on rebuilding schools, setting up temporary learning spaces and digital learning centres, psychosocial support and improving teacher wellbeing.

In order not to get lost in pedagogical terminology "from the start", we invited Finns to the HUB and put it in the hands of "experts" - the director of the specialized Lyceum No. 12 Galina Kuklina and Valentina Denisenko - the head of the BF "Greenlandia", which helps sunny children. In the "language of education", the future partners discussed several areas of cooperation:

- restoration of schools;
- teacher training (improvement of both professional and personal skills) - 2023 project
- assistance to school canteens (restoration of premises, equipment, revision of menus, change of food products) - 2023-2024 project.

There is a lot of willpower in the entire Ukrainian education system, because everyone wants to return to a full-time working regime. But in addition to desire, children and teachers have the right to it. Therefore, we are glad that school rehabilitation and its well-being are in the center of attention of foreign partners, in particular Finns! Thank you to the representatives of FCA Finn Church Aid, who took care of the people of Kharkiv!
