Congratulations on the Day of Ukrainian writing and language!
Congratulations on the Day of Ukrainian writing and language!
Language is the most important means of communication and knowledge, one of the main factors of the country's independence. Every year on November 9, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. Usually on this day, the memory of Venerable Nestor the Chronicler, a follower of the creators of the Slavic script, is celebrated, the best popularizers of the Ukrainian word are celebrated and the All-Ukrainian radio dictation of national unity is held.
This year we are alarmed, but very, very proud to speak, write, and think in Ukrainian. And here are 5 interesting facts about Ukrainian:
1. The modern Ukrainian language has about 256,000 words and is included in the list of successfully developing languages.
2. Ukrainian is recognized as the second most melodious language in the world after Italian.
3. The Ukrainian language is the result of the integration of 3 dialects of the Proto-Slavic language - Polyansky, Derevlyansky, and Severyansky.
4. In terms of vocabulary, the closest to Ukrainian is the Belarusian language (84% of the common vocabulary), followed by Polish (70%) and Slovak (68%).
5. Over the centuries, the Ukrainian language was subjected to significant oppression and prohibitions by various states, BUT IT DIDN'T DISAPPEAR FOR A DAY!
And in our Rotary Club Kharkiv "New Level" there are those thanks to whom the UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE FLOURISHES IN THE NEW LEVEL CLUB!
Iryna Minkovska - the founder of the First Education Center in Ukraine for teachers and parents ME AND MY SCHOOL
and
Galyna Kuklina is the director of Kharkiv Special School No. 12 for visually impaired children.
They are real leaders, respected teachers who progress every day, improve quality, develop pronunciation and language. Therefore, today is 100% their day! Congratulations, girls!
And let's summarize with words from a poem by the national poet, public figure Dmytro Bilous:
...she has the soul of Shevchenko and Lesyа,
And Frank's soul is in her.
TAKE CARE OF THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE,
NATIVE LANGUAGE IS THE BASIS OF LIFE!
Glory to Ukraine!
