The planted beans on the minefield broke
The planted beans on the minefield broke.
Due to the invasion of the Russian occupiers and the full-scale war, our Ukraine lost millions of tons of crops - mainly those that the enemy destroyed by fire during the occupation. Currently, the total under-harvested harvest is more than 10 million tons, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Taras Vysotskyi said.
But in addition to mutilated hectares of grain crops, we are dealing with PURPOSEFUL MINING OF CITIES, GARDENS, FENCES OF VILLAGERS, in particular in the Kharkiv region. Because of the threat of accidentally coming across a "stretcher" with an anti-personnel grenade, hundreds of residents of Kharkiv Oblast GAVE UP THEIR OWN HARVEST.
Rotary HUB (Rotary Club Kharkiv "New Level", Rotary club Kharkiv, Rotary Club Kharkov Mriya, Kharkiv Rotary Club "Kharkiv-City") SYMPATHIZES and tries to COMPENSATE what was lost. We teamed up with Samaritan's Purse, a non-denominational Christian organization, and FORMED FOOD BAGS with scarce products: wheat/barley cereals, canned beans, sunflower oil, table salt, pasta cones/tubes, and stewed meat.
This year, hundreds of grandparents did not open the "households for pickling" season, did not stock up. But thanks to volunteer Artem Pevny and his helpers, Samaritan-Rotary LONG-TERM STORAGE PRODUCTS reached the villagers of Kharkiv region, with which they feed themselves in winter.
We sincerely thank the Samaritan's Bag organization for the support, trust and six-month cooperation with Rotary Kharkiv!
