#Wintering_Together in an intellectual room?

Any volunteer initiative is born on the energy of a person, and it may well end together with this energy.

Therefore, together with our partners (ME AND MY SCHOOL, Kviten Association), we launched a 10-week marathon "Wintering together", which is aimed at combating volunteer burnout. And yesterday, Rotary men and women took part in a backgammon doubles tournament.

Backgammon is a game that develops thinking. It combines strict rules, a spirit of rivalry and excitement. It has long had a symbolic and mystical meaning. It is believed that the playing field symbolizes the sky, and the movement of the chips in a circle is the movement of the stars ✨ On each half of the board there are 12 marks for chips - the same number of months in a year. The game board consists of four sectors - like 4 seasons, and the number of checkers - i.e. 30 pieces. - is equal to the number of days per month.

Why did the nobility play backgammon?

Because during one game (in 20-30 minutes), players simultaneously apply both tactics and strategy. You don't need much to win, just be able to keep your cool, calculate your actions and not be afraid to take risks. In our opinion, all the charity work of volunteers is built on these principles. Yesterday they played on the table, and today they had twice as much fun.

You know, our Rotary HUB - like a tuning fork - emits only one note, but it adjusts the entire scale, tightens the strings and the "orchestra" sounds in unison. We are convinced that these meetings REanimate Rotary volunteers! Keep your finger on the pulse, there are many more rooms to come.
