Famous Rotarians: Kharkiv version!

During its almost 120-year history, Rotary International, as the world's largest charitable organization, has included many famous world leaders and prominent figures. For example, Walt Disney, Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill, etc. All of them were Rotarians as long as they lived.

We in Kharkiv can boast of our honorable persons. For example, Volodymyr Yosypovich Yablonsky - Major General, member of the NGO "International Congress for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms", philanthropist, human rights defender and Rotarian, who has been a member of the Rotary club Kharkiv for more than 28 years.

As a military man, Mr. Volodymyr has the courage and strength to speak the truth, without reduction. But even he had a hard time predicting all the consequences of what happened on February 24. In particular, the fact that his apartment will be destroyed by a Russian missile. Miraculously saved, the Yablonsky couple left for one of the suburban villages. Here, in his country house, Volodymyr Yosypovych lives with his wife and three families, whom they sheltered at their own request.

But they didn't move to "relocate". Together with Mykhailo Yermakov, a friend and president of the Kharkiv Rotary club, Volodymyr Yablonsky continues charitable activities, in particular, taking care of the military part of the Bakhmut district. Well, since Rotary Kharkiv is one of the clubs headed by Rotary HUB, we all take part in this project. During yesterday's visit, the comrades handed over food, water, blankets, sleeping bags and other things needed by Ukrainian soldiers to the front line.

We do one thing - defend our state!
