What to cook for the holidays when there is a war in the country?

Due to the bloody and destructive war of the Russian invaders against Ukraine, this year's New Year's celebrations will be as low-key as possible.

As calculated by the Institute of Agrarian Economics, the New Year's menu of dishes that are traditional for the Ukrainian family table - salads, meat or fish products, vegetables, fruits, bakery products - will cost 44% more for a family of four than last year.

The holiday will be without delicacies, but in Ukrainian interests. At least the Rotary HUB performs a number of charitable processes for this. For example, issues a stock of products from partners.

From Samaritan's Purse - a non-denominational Christian organization - Kharkiv residents receive cereals - wheat and barley, canned beans, corned pasta and stewed meat. If you add to this homemade pickles that you managed to prepare in the summer, you can set a modest but full table.

During his visit to the US Congress, our President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said: "We will celebrate. Even if there is no electricity, the light of our faith in ourselves will not go out. If there are Russian missiles, we will do everything possible to defend ourselves. If there are Iranian missiles drones, and our people will have to go to the bomb shelter in the evening - Ukrainians will also sit down at the festive table there and support each other."

We believe that this is the first and last war year! Glory to Ukraine!
