Our volunteers are worthy of the mayor's thanks!

Today is the International Day of Volunteers for Economic and Social Development - one of the international days of the UN, established by a resolution in 1985.

After the official Russian attack, a powerful volunteer movement of the "from Ukrainian to Ukrainian" format was spontaneously organized in Ukraine. Only in the first 2-3 days of the invasion, more than 1,700 organizations were created to provide humanitarian aid. It is impossible to estimate the number of citizens involved in volunteering - the number is in the tens of thousands.

Our Rotary HUB is help in the format "from a Kharkiv resident to a Kharkiv resident". We report on the good deeds of our volunteers every day. These boys and girls deserve world-class recognition, but everything takes time. And last Friday, it was time to get regional recognition.

On December 2, Rotary volunteers attended the reception of Mayor Ihor Terekhov on the occasion of the International Volunteer Day and were awarded with personal thanks and a firm handshake with the defenders of Ukraine, representatives of special operations forces.

Ihor Oleksandrovych emphasized: "From the first day of the war, each of you volunteered at the call of your heart. Thanks to you, the city survived! You prepared and delivered food, fed the military, people who were hiding from shelling in the subway, helped in hospitals, delivered food and medicine to people . This is already a story that will remain in the souls of Kharkiv residents. It is impossible to overestimate your actions. Everything you did and are doing is very important. You are real heroes, without whom our city would not have received its heroic title!"

Volunteers are a real example of kindness, humanity and selflessness. May all your charitable deeds be rewarded many, many times over! Thank you for having you with us!
