On the forum we talk about what we have in mind!
On December 2, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the charity Western Ukrainian real estate forum-exhibition 2022, which was organized by AFNU Ukraine. The topic of the meeting: "Forced migrants and the real estate market. Loyalty. Support. Help."
Why now?
About 12 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes due to the Russian invasion. Of them, 6.5 million are in the west of the country. Housing funds in this region are limited. Families, the elderly and children are forced to stay in transit zones for weeks without being able to find adequate shelter and return to normal life.
45,000 IDPs are officially registered in Ivano-Frankivsk, which means that the city's population has increased by at least 20% since the beginning of the war. It is expected that the population of the city may increase over time. Such growth creates opportunities for the development of the region in the future, but above all, it causes a frenetic demand for apartments already today.
Consequently, the Western Ukrainian Forum has turned into a platform for networking between representatives of business, government and the social sphere. During the event, there were many thorough presentations and powerful panel discussions. And we are proud that Pavlo Filippenko, our president and head of the Kharkiv branch of Dobrobat, took part in the public discussion.
Pavlo did not come alone, but together with his "right hand", the volunteer coordinator of Kharkiv Dobrobat - Andrii Vorona. The insight shared by the guys at the forum is the formation of point groups for the reconstruction of abandoned hostels in the cities of Western Ukraine. That is, the creation of small battalions on a volunteer basis, each consisting of 10-15 volunteers + able-bodied immigrants. Such groups would significantly strengthen professional construction and architectural teams.
We know one such team personally - they are friends from MetaLab's KO-HATY project, who have been restoring buildings since March in order to create decent living conditions for forcibly displaced people in Ivano-Frankivsk.
Ukraine is a single country! To be continued.
