Rotarian, "open your face"!
Rotarian, "open your face"!
Rotary International is an organization in which you learn to find a balance between the natural DESIRE to BENEFIT FOR YOURSELF and awareness of your OBLIGATION to HELP others.
During its almost 120-year history, Rotary, as the world's largest charitable organization, has included many famous world leaders and prominent figures. Shall we meet some of them?
US President Franklin Roosevelt was a member of the Rotary Club of Albany. As a motivational speaker, he "challenged" people: "It's not enough to just want. You have to ask yourself what you're going to do to get what you want."
Sir Winston Churchill was a member of the Rotary Club Of London. The British Prime Minister singled out 8 aspects of great leadership, which he tried to bring into people's thoughts, speech, and actions:
- positive attitude
- enthusiasm
- efforts
- readiness for changes
- bravery
- endurance
- a strong moral compass
- sense of humor
British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher became a Rotarian through her father, Alfred Roberts, who was Mayor of Grantham and President of the Rotary Club of Grantham until 1958. She particularly admired the solidarity and generosity of Rotary members.
But there are still many talented, professional and famous people who have dedicated themselves to serving society around the world! We will learn about them later.
