On February 24, I woke up from a roar and ran out into the street. In the sky I saw a scattering of white dots. I used to serve 32 years ago. I realized that our air defense is working. Neighbor Volodya ran out of a neighboring house, followed by his two children.

On February 25, 3 families of our Rotary Club Kharkiv "New Level" gathered in an apartment nearby, called up the whole club - a decision to collect money was made, in order to buy essential products and start helping those who need it.

On February 26, the first 75,000 hryvnias were collected on the card belonging to the charter president of the club, Gennadiy Ivanov. Pavel Filippenko provided his garage where we began to bring food and medicine reserves. The Humanitarian HUB of our Rotary Club has begun to operate.

The total amount of funds raised is more than 2 million hryvnias:

• The amount of received and distributed humanitarian cargoes is more than 150 tons.
• The amount of money raised by direct fundraising is over UAH 630,000.

• Committee of fundraising, searching and attracting finances - Irina Ivanova and all members of the club
• Medicines Committee — Ksenia Spiridonova, Alexey Kienko
• Committee of strategic planning and management of all humanitarian projects of the club — me, Victoria Pogodaeva

Each committee consists of professionals; club members know what to do; communication, regulations, rules are established

The Humanitarian HUB is involved 24/7

• Three coordinators from our club;
• 2 medical volunteers;
• 20 people sorting and packing incoming humanitarian aid;
• more than 40 volunteers who carry out loading and unloading operations;
• 2 cars;
• one vehicle of 1.5 tons;
• one five-ton vehicle;
• one twenty-ton truck.

We perform the following tasks daily:

• Organization of the place of humanitarian aid reception, reloading and distribution
• Creation of a network of partner organizations and groups of local volunteer activists to provide targeted humanitarian assistance. Today there are more than 80 of them. We deliver humanitarian aid to every district of the city.
• Organization of permanent fundraising to raise funds for the purchase of food, medicines
• Search for humanitarian aid.
• Ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to Kharkiv in the Hub
• Accounting and control over the targeted use of humanitarian aid and collected money.

The flagship project of the HUB is organizing a systemic supply of chicken meat.

The result of the partnership of four Rotary Clubs of Ukraine

• Rotary Club Kyiv International, Oksana Tyupa, Dmytro Chorniy - agreed to supply free chicken meat to Kharkiv with “Nasha Ryaba” MHP, 10-15 tons daily.
• Rotary Club "Kharkiv Multinational", Olga Zmievskaya, Alexey Zhadan, Stanislav Paziy
• Rotary Club Kharkiv, Oleksandr Chupylko, Jozef Broniewski - providing a storage and a team to work in the HUB (unloading/loading cargoes)
• Our club Rotary Club Kharkiv "New Level", Pavel Filippenko and 7 other members of the club - reception of cargoes in Kharkiv, sorting, creating a network of help points, organizing groups of activists throughout the city and distributing food to them.

We are supported by large and small humanitarian cargoes:

• RK Kharkiv International and their Rotarian friends from Lithuania
• Rotary Club Lviv, Igor Savchykevych and others

• Doctor Konstantin, Feofaniya Hospital, Kyiv
• RC “Kharkiv”, Zhenya Zayarny

Where do we need help:

• Payment for cargo refrigerators that bring frozen chicken meat from Dnipro. Delivery from MHP "Nasha Ryaba". 10-15 tons daily. The amount of expenses - 20 000 UAH per day
• Buying simple cereals (yachka, millet, etc.), pasta, flour, sugar. The need per week is up to 10 tons. The amount of costs - 120 000 UAH
• Paying trucks drivers for the transportation of humanitarian aid from partner Rotary Clubs of Ukraine (Izmail, Chernivtsi, Lviv). Intensity is 1 car in 3-4 days. The amount of costs - 25,000 - 45,000 UAH for 1 trip. (Depending on the mileage and danger of the route).
